Located less than 15 miles northwest of Dallas, Irving, Texas is home of Las Colinas,
one of the country's first master planned communities. Irving is home to many major

Mandalay Canal and Lake Carolyn
Catching a gondola ride in Las Colinas is one of the more popular attractions in
Irving, Texas. The area is ideal for walking around, people watching and photo opportunities.
Visitors flock to the milkshakes and burgers at Big State Fountain Grill, then walk
it off at Heritage Park. The district is also home to one of Irving's oldest houses,
as well as a scenic Founder's Plaza.
Irving Arts Center
An affiliate of the Smithsonian, check out these four galleries that are a mix of
traditional and contemporary art. The Arts Center also is the home of two theatres
for plays and concerts and an outdoor sculpture garden.
Getting Around Irving
The most common way of getting around Irving is by car, especially Texas Highway
114 and LBJ Freeway. Irving is also served by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit System
(DART), which runs seven days a week and consists of a subway system, buses, commuter
trains and rapid transit. Some tenants of buildings in Las Colinas also have access
to Las Colinas Area Personal Transit System, which runs on weekdays.
