Where to Donate Clothes in Austin

This is the fourth and final blog in a series of posts highlights charities and organizations that will gladly accept clothing donations. Move For Free hopes these blogs have inspired you to dig around the closet for a bit, find some clothes you no longer need or clothes that no longer fit, and donate them to a great cause.

We’ve already told you about where to donate clothes in San Antonio, where to donate clothes in Houston and where to donate clothes in Dallas/Fort Worth. Now it’s time to look at the Austin area.

Austin Salvation Army

How to donate: Donations can be dropped off at four Salvation Army Thrift Stores across Austin. Click here to find the location closest to you.
Clothing needs: Clothing donations for men, women and children of all sizes are accepted.
The mission: The Salvation Army provides support and housing for men who trying to rebuild their lives.

Eastside Community Connection

How to donate: There are 32 donation drop box locations across the Austin area. Click here to find the one nearest you.
Clothing needs: Used clothing donations of all sizes for men, women and children are accepted.
The mission: Money raised from the sale of donated clothes helps pay for food assistance and education programs in the Austin area.

Goodwill Industries of Central Texas

How to donate: You can drop off donations at more than 45 locations in the Austin area. Click here to find the location nearest you.
Clothing needs: All clothing donations for men, women and children are accepted.
The mission: Goodwill’s goal is to get people back on their feet through the power of work.

St. Vincent de Paul

How to donate: You can drop off donations at the SVDP Store at 1327 South Congress or at the Yager Collection Center at 818 W. Yager Lane.
Clothing needs: All clothing donations for men, women and children are accepted.
The mission: St. Vincent de Paul provides assistance with basic needs to the disadvantaged.

Safe Place

How to donate: Donations can be dropped off at the Gil Crane Warehouse at 1515 Grove Boulevard.
Clothing needs: Safe Place accepts clothing donations for men, women and children of all sizes, as well as purses, wallets and suitcases.
The mission: Safe Place provides shelter and support for victims of domestic and sexual violence.
